Hi,
I was working with my current employer as a temporary employee for 5 years. On the 5th year they regularised my employment with 2 yrs probation and asked me to give a bond for serving the organization for 3 yrs. The bond was given on a plain sheet of paper. I have now served the organization for 1yr and 10 months. The appointment letter says that the employer can terminate my service with 1 weeks notice and does not tell how the employee can give notice to the employer except for giving the bond. The bond also does not have any conditions like having to pay any money to employer or how many weeks of notice must be given.
I have now got a better opportunity. I have given my resignation letter 2 weeks back. But they have not responded in any way. How do i get my relieving letter. Is there any legal actions that could be taken against me if I join the new employer next month?

Hi,
No legal action can be taken if you leave. They can however make it difficult for you by not giving your relieving letter etc. However, since you have worked in this organisation for almost 7 years now, it would be in your best interests to part amicably. My advice would be to talk to your managers openly and leave in a nice way. They should surely give you the relieving order and experience certificate which will be very much required by you after such a long service.

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. Currently they are denying to releive me. Is that a problem?. Aren't they supposed to accept my resignation letter?. About my experience certificate, Can they deny from giving me one? is it legal?.
