I am working in as an hr-executive in small scale industry in chennai. recently the government of tamilnadu announced power holiday for industries across tamilnadu.. so we planned to work in sundays to compensate.we cannot opt for generators also which would be costly one.. my doubt is working on sundays will be illegal one ah. will there be any circulars for inspector of factories regarding this issue

Dear Bala,
The policy is made only to give one day week off for working employee.
Since you are going to work on sunday just send a letter informing to the inspector of factories that you would be giving the week-off on the specific day stating the reason.
Since every department in the state is aware of it you will get the approval easily.
In all the register show the week off day as the specific day. also display the same in the notice board.
Since the power holiday plan is for monthly basis send the letter before the end of next month for the next month week-off change.
