Hi
Im new to HR role. Ive joined this firm as HR Exec-generalist just 1.5 month back. Im new to this role as well as to this advertising industry. I ve worked as Process Lead previosly in BPO and also curretnly pursuing MHRDM (now in final year).
My firm is mid-size firm (run by a family). We have one person Mr. X who is a Creative Head. He has been in this organisation for last 6 yrs. He is a perfectionist and is actually too good with his work. There are no doubts about his creditability and is an asset to the organisation. However, this person is very egostic, pompous about hsi work. He classifies people into basically 2 categories, good n bad, Good for him are those who can get along with him n bad is just the opposite. If he likes a person, he/she is good n vice versa. Once person falls in his bad category, he will do anythng to make that person's life miserable and show him/her down. There are lot of people who have quit the organisation becoz of this person. He has been previously given feedback over his rude behavior and current behaviour what i have observed is 25%only (which is post feedback). As per mngmnt , they know about this person behaviour is wrong n kind of threat to the organisation. However, they have kept mum over this cos of his finesse. They want to deal with this situation. Want alternatives for the same.
Can anyone suggest how to deal with this situation?

Dear Sender,
This kind of behavioral people found every organisation. If the management cannot do anything. Better, behave nice to him when the time comes, he want any help, show your regretness.
Ask HR manager to send Mr. X to attend any behavioral related training program, he will understand the message what co. wants to give.
If it happens with you & you have courage, straight away tell him his adamanent behavior which you dont like. Someone must have awaken him.

who will bell the cat ?
ans : a dog....
i will narrate a real incident....
A leading organisation installed CCTVs... it led to a long pending issue being resolved..
well one of the senior people was very rude, at times even with the clients..
now one fine day his outburst was captured on camera...
No disciplinary proceedings were initiated, no warning, no suggestion ....
the snippet was shown to the person by the CEO and he resigned n left the same day....

Hi
I think the only way to change it is to sit with him, and have a face to face conversation.
You might be younger than him,
You might be new to the industry
You might be new to HR
and You may not even have the necessary knowledge as him,
but remember one thing
you are a HR - and its the duty of HR to change a persons attitude which is affecting an organization or individual.
hey you cant afford to loose 5 assets for the price of a liability....
its in your hands yaar. if you want you can even change a liability to an asset. Do it
The reason i am telling you is cuz, I had the same problem exactly like you and I solved it. If a dumbo like me can do such a thing, then anyone can do it....
Study, Study, Study.... Every situation has a solution
