Hi!
I work in HR in my company in the Maldives. My seniors have asked me to break current salaries into wages and allowances. I checked existing allowance names and they are as below. Can anyone suggest any alternative name for these allowances or additional allowances I can suggest to them.
Food allowance (this is OK)
Accommodation Allowance (this is also OK)
Tea Allowance - need a better suggestion
Extra Allowance - need a better suggestion
our company provides telephone and sim cards for all staff so we do not have communication allowance. Traveling allowance is not required as all travel related expense are provided on request or reimbursed to staff.
thanks

Hello Muna,
Quite often, a lot would also depend on the Sector/Domain your company is in--for eg., the allowances used/practiced in the IT sector would be different from those used in, let's say, Realty sector. Pl give some background info of your company.
Jasmine anil's suggestion for the Tea Allowance seems to be good.
Reg the Extra Allowance, pl clarify the basic purpose of this allowance--that would give the members better idea of what to suggest.
Reg the Communication Allowance, you could maybe just call it plainly as Telephone Allowance also--depends on the general company preferences.

hi,
i do not agree on the "other" allowance cos its not specific, anything relating to a staff should be specific. when you say 'other' its similar to saying 'unknown'. This is based on my experience in HR and Finance in the Maldives.
