Dear All,
ESI Act is now applicable on employment of 10 employees or more on head counting. Such establishment/shops etc. having employment strength 10 or more drawing any salary (less than Rs. 15000/- p.m. or more than Rs. 15000/- p.m.) are now coverable under the ESI Act w.e.f. 01.04.2011. Copy of Notification in this regard is enclosed herewith.
This notification is applicable in NCT Delhi region only.

Dear members.........earlier extension of scheme to the shops and estt. u/s. 1(5) of the ESI Act, when the no. of employees are 20 or more.......
Due to this notification (it should be given by the concerned state governments individually), then in such notified states, the scheme will be extended to all shops & estt. who are engaged 10 or more persons (not employees) ............

Dear All, As per my opinion it should be applicable to all the region as the ESIC is a central act. Regards, Ravi Gupta
