I am also intrested towards a cunsulting career in HR would an executive mba frm a premier b school be better over a PHd from a premier school, as with the phd I can continue working while studying?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Greetings,
Are you planning for your Ph.D from in any foreign university ? Generally, they require you to work for a fixed number of hours. You may choose to teach or take up any consulting roles.
I have requested Mr. Simhan to guide you on this.

Dear Grasp,

I am good at raising questions rather than answer yours. It's very difficult to give advice based on very brief information on your background and future plans.

Where are you based and where do you want to pursue your PhD? Regulations for enrolling on a PhD course and the demands made to complete it varies from country to country.

From which university did you get your MBA? And in which mode did you complete the course?

If OD is your area of interest and your profile does not have that, do you have a command of that topic? If not, you need to read a lot and digest the material to be able to interpert and contribute in that field.

Normally, a PhD is essential for an academic career to get promoted. Same is not the case when you work for a consultancy. Hence, you need to be clear as to why you want to pursue and get a PhD.

The mere fact that you are raising the question whether an MBA from a premier business school would be better than a PhD indicates that the foreign university from where you got the award is not a premier one. Am I right?

Have a nice day.
