Dear Sir/Madam, I've joined a new company & there I want to implement a birthday policy. Can anyone help me in giving a format for employee welfare policy which has b'day policy in it?

hello ruby,
celeberating employee birthdays at work place is a good employee engagement initiative .Such acts do go a long way in generating loyalty ,commitment & bonding with employees.
There is no specific format for employee welfare policy ,one needs to talk to the employees and get a first hand feedback as to their expectations from the organisation in terms of high impact employee engagement initiatives.Plus we also need to check on the prevalent industry practice .Based on this work out a phase wise plan ,get a buy-in from the management & then introduce the initiatives.Instead of bombarding the organisation with a bunch of initiatives ,it would be better to roll out one at a time ,stabilize it & institutionalize it & move on.
some of the prevalent practice in the said area at work place is by organising weekly/monthly parties. In case of organisations where-in no of employees are less celeberations do happen on the day of birthday itself .
To ensure uniform celeberations its ideal to fix a predefined amount per birthday .The amount could range from Rs 300 to 1000 per occasion.
We as HR professionals need to facilitate the process & try to inculcate the spirit of team bonding wherein the respective teams take the onus of celeberating of birthdays for their team members ,thus resulting into better rapport building & team engagement levels.

Dear Ruby,
From your employee date note the birthdays accordingly and on each person's birthday you order a single rose and keep a commom stock of small birthday greeting cards with your company logo. Every morning let their immediate boss hand over ( rose and a card )to the birthday person .
Please note down the points and make a SOP

if your company does not permit extra cost, what we can do is we can celebrate birthdays on last day of the month for all those employees whoes birthday falls in that month ...and on the birthday one mail from hr team to all employees should be sent with some brief about employee ( hobbies, personality etc ... )
