Hi All,
If in an Orgnization HR feels that the owner of the organization is not correct so what should an HR do.
Obviously you all will say stand against it and correct him but the owner is very rude and if in this co.HR will stand and correct him she will loose her job.
Now she is not liking the atmosphere but she also can not change it cause she is like an statue in this co.
Now what should this HR do....... Please advise me (I know she can leave job and look for another good opportunity) but aprat from leaving her job what she can do ??
hope to have comments from all seniors.

HI Neha,
Greetings for the day.. The very first thing I would tell you is that you mentioned that that HR is nothing but a statue in an organization; Now what big difference it makes if that statue is shifted from office?
Bitter but truth is that HR has not added any value to either organization or to the owner otherwise he would have listened to her by the fear of losing her.
Second thing escaping is not the solution; What is the gurantee that in new job also that HR will not fine such rude boss? More over you have not mentioned that what circumstances that owner has been wrong, if you elaborate, I would add some valid points..

Hey Neha..

what is the use of the HR then in the organisation if you just have to be a statue, being a Yes man is always an easier thing to do..getting up against the tide is what takes the courage. The owner will not change his attitude, behaviour overnight, you have to work hard to win the trust, which may take time but you will surely get your say if you play your game right.

So my dear, be strong the worst is that you will loose job but at least try and change their point of views.

Plan a meeting with the owner,
go fully prepared with all the things that you need to discuss or you disagree with,
do not ever say any negative thing about the owner's decision
Sell your ideas by showing big picture of Pros and cons
Tell them everything in terms of money, most of the owners understand this language very well, so you can also do that.

Just being a spectator and enjoying your job without saying anything will not give results, try and be the part of system to change it.

Lets hear from you now, what you have to say...then we will discuss it further.

Dear Neha,
That is the tragedy of HR. Though evolved from personnel to HR, it continues to face the identity crisis.
Secondly, who is 'she' here? Are you yourself?
You have quoted situation of HR only. But then what about other departments? Do they get the same treatment?
What problem you face is faced by many HR professionals across the industries. This is not something new.
Quit the job and move on to new one. Hope you get some deserving boss.

Hi Gaurav,
the quote is about me only.it is a growing organization.I joined it 2 years back and in these two years full team has been changed twice.
As per the thinking of management somewhere i won their trust and proved them something that's why i am still here in this organization.
I had no plan to change this office for next two years also but i think circumstances are making me to do it now cause now they are on me.

Archana i do agree with you.But you know here they don't accept my any idea and approx 8 to 10 ideas of mine for the company good atmosphere they have refused. And now once in last week i caught the red handed talking about me and my tasks(they were talking like how to overload me).I know we take salary for our work only but you know after two years i have made my each task very smooth and i feel so relaxed while performing my duty but my relaxed face is making them tensed and they feels that i have no work.
And in this case how can i go with my positive ideas to him and discuss for the co.atmosphere.
Cause when i caught them red handed from that day they have started blaming me on useless points.
I feel so bad cause after two years they made me like for each minor task i have to ask them.
What do i do now.
Please reply

Hi Neha !!
Firstly, you need to identify the problem, your owner is incorrect for a particular issue ? or the problem is with his own attitude.....? Coz being a owner he'll always have a different angle of thinking. As you have written that within two years your team has been changed twice. This is the alarming situation for HR & Management. Firstly you should study the reason of such a high attrition rate, there may be some problem with the organisation culture. Accordingly, you can convey to your management that if they continue with the same attitude they will land up in a big trouble.
You have to convey your ideas in their language, which they can understand.
If you can share the exact situation with some examples, i'll be able to make some sugestions.

Hi Mayuri,

I will give you an example about their behave on me.

I know each and everything of this org.very well and i use to prepare the budget of this co.also.Also i manages all the cash payment and all other record of accounts.

Now suddenly i am instructed by them that i have to ask them each and everything. So i said yes sir i will do. All employee use to come to me and ask the phone numbers of others everyday so i thought to put all contact numbers on notice board but due to my boss instruction i asked him before doing it...........and you know what he said no dont do it.and i felt so bad about it.

Now second example i went to an employees seat and said to submit me the bills for his conveyance very slowly.......so when i was coming back to my seat my boss called me and said what u were talking to him again i felt so bad.

And i think same is going with each employee and they are quitting their job.

And you see after two years they are doing like this what should i do??

Hey Neha,
You didn't share the entire story earlier, in this case the solution could be different.
You caught them red handed talking about you, which means some one is passing on all the information to the Owners about you and your work. I have come across a company like that where one of my friend was working and you won't believe that the case was exactly like you have explained, ultimately she left the company but only after making them realise about their loss.
Speak openly about what you have heard and be cordial while discussing and ask them openly if they want you to leave. It will take a little courage but believe me you will get satisfaction when you discuss everything in open.
And then you can leave in a proper manner so that they won't trouble you further.
All the best.....and don't loose hope...the unprofessional owners in family run business mostly behave like that as they get insecure easily.
