Hello,
As per the PF Act the maximum basic salary entitlement of PF is 6500, however my question is if any employee has exceeded this limit after having his increment is he still entitle for Employee PF Contribution? if yes is it Rs.780/- fixed or a company can exclude such employee from Contribution?

hi,
with the recent EPFO amendment, now the Pf limit is extended to Rs.10000/-(previously it was Rs.6500/-). however the employee contribution has to be deducted based on their actual basic pay of the respective employee. but the employer contribution is sealed to Rs.780 which is 12% of Rs.6500(sealing of basic pay for PF). Increments will not affect the employer contribution. And also the employee cannot be excluded from PF even if his salary is revised.

Thank you very much for the valuable answer. I had recently been to epfindia site but could not get any amendment related to the increased Basic limits for PF Contribution of Maharashra State. Kindly send me the circular if available with you.

Till date the ceiling salary limit of EPF is Rs. 6500. There is no such amendment to hike the limit to Rs. 10,000.
The members once enrolled to PF will continue till the end of service. The statutory ogligation is contribution upto ceiling salary. But both employee and employer can contribute at higher salaries if they wish.
