I feel that for employee motivation and recognition, we can have Certificates of Recognition like Best Employee, Best Performer, etc. along with momentos for the employees.
These non-monetary rewards serve as a big motivating factor for employees and are with them for lifelong.

You can have programs like Shabash or Puraskar to facilitate the employee who has done a good job.It will keep the employee morale and his prestige high and am sure every one like to be praised.It really works wonders.

I like the idea of giving awards but you can also use designation as a way to keep them happy. Create interesting and important sounding designation and add more levels so that people feel important and rewarded.
