hello frnds,
I am new to this site. Well its regarding my summer project. I have been given the work of internal audit of employee files.....which involves verifying the presence of documents like CV, Pay slips, benefits, birth certificate, qualification, work experience certificates, Medical certificates etc. of the employees.
I dont think this work can add any value to my summer project nor can i make a report out of it. I have been given other projects too, but i guess i should drop this employee file audit work? can it be useful in anyway? If yes what can i present in my report about it?

i think its a good project...though it is difficult to put in words but there shud be a lot of learning........u will see wjhat sort of formats are there for various purposes .....what are the things that shud be there in a particular documant n all that.............as far as making a project report goes................in ur projectreport u can first write
what ur projrct is all abt
which all doc u audiated, wht was ur learning etc. i hope u haev format of a standard project report if not tell me...........
then suppose u haev audited CVs ........ u can make a section headed Cv give an intro abt what CVs are , Y they are used, what are the things that must bethere in a CV , how it shud be formated etc. then u can put a few sample CVs........n u can point out good and bad points of an exceptional CV n an exceptioanlly bad Cv........u can give suggestions in terms of ....say does the sample CV has all the info that was required .......etc..............
this way each doc that u audit can be included...........if u format it welli think it will be an awesome project report n even better powerpoint presentation.........
dont run away from wht u haev got........u can do this today but not tommorrow when u join a company.........go for it and all the best.............i am sure u can do it........

If some one wants to make a project on any topic,does he/she need some kind of NOC from the Institute.
If some one already completed his MBA, does he/she can make the projects or not...??
I have seen regular students are allowed for the summer project but what about those students who are doing MBA from Distance Learning.
Is there any oppertunity for those students?

From internal audit profile, u can learn their wage salary structure, their allowences their pF calcluation gratuity calcuation bonous calcuation, different types of leaves on the basic of labour law.
That will help u to analyses the retaintion strategies and also aid to study organisation climate.
In future if u hv been given a task on recruitment so u will have a exprerience of such procedure.You can also analyses what type of qualification require for what type of job.
You can also compare the basic difference btw manufacturing industries and servies industries.
I think these are inough if you have any quiry then contact me.

i am also an summer training student who had to under go the same procedure in anMNC.they made me along with one other trainee student check the personal file of the newly appointed employees within one year(about 60 files). In that we had the check their medical report with ECG, PF,PF transfer (Form13),Gratuity, marksheet, application for employment, interview assesment sheet, CV,Reliving letter from past employer,Past salary slip.we had to make a list of the documents not there.
At the end of this our guide asked us some questions like
1) why do we take releving letter?
2) About past salary slip?
etc.
Although my answer was near to the questions but not the actual reasons ,then they told the correct reasons behind them.
Thus this led me to think about the importance of this documents and their uses to the company, and also what are the criteria that the interview pannel checks and how the marks are given.
What i would like to suggest u is that all this things are basics in the hr and we as trainee should know its importance and learn some thing from this kind of work. always try to do the work keeping in mind that there is something to learn from it :idea:
Now as far as ur report is concern u can make a report on this also, as learning undertaken. if u want to do some survey the u must ask the concerned employee and take his permission.
