Dear Niket,
This extremely depends on reason.
If candidate has dropped any mail regarding this after reaching out station, that is professionalism.
But giving call to senior and informing doesnt take much time again before leaving for out station for xyz reason.
If employee has left coz he has medical reason then he could present documents accordingly.
So, its up to the organization how to take this case forward.
Thanx,

I agree with praveen13ad’s opinion. Before answering this question, one should know/understand "what EXACTLY is a Misconduct ?"; or "what constitutes a Misconduct ?". Warm regards.

Dear Niket,
If it is mentioned in standing orders or rules & regulations of the company.. you can ask for explanation from the employee... bcoz in employer employee relation this kind of activities create prolem in future also..
so, follow the procedure and take some action...like "warning", even ded of wages..
and as per ur question..the employee can go anywhere in off days...but CL as to be informed in advance and Sl if posible has to be intimated over telephone or telegram and further as to produce the medical report...

The private sector is also concerned about what you do outside the office. Specially as it affects your ability to react to an emergency or work related matters. Private companies expect more than government that you are available 24 x 7 for any work they may have. On the other hand, government employees can refuse to come after their work time.
Specially in case of CL or SL, going out of station without informing the company is misconduct, unless stated otherwise in the standing orders or terms of employment / HR Policies

Dear Niket,
As for non management category, it won't be a problem. But for Management category wise from Supervisor onwards, They should inform to their next superior, when they leave from his home station. So, as for Officerr........
( Compulsory to inform only , and no need to get permission for off days and week ends).
Tha managment will programme them selve for any emergency with the intimation .
