Dear seniors,
i have learnt that it is responsibility of the principal employer to pay the PF for the contract employee and then claim it back from the contractor. is this a standard practice or principal employer relies on contractor to pay the PF and collect challan copy from them?
thanks,
Sonia

Dear Sonia,
Contractor need to pay pf for their under working employee and responsibility of the principal employer to check the challan and should be stamped by the principal employer means this amount is being deposited for the company name........
Now a days what is happening a contractor having the contract more than one industry and at the time of last month during the filling of PF challan then they usually show together means total employee 500.In this case principal employer is not ensure about the contribution of the particulary employee working under them.
So dear make sure challan should be separate and total no of employee with seal to avoid any future happing.
