Hey,
It is important to get the material insured for transit. the drivers/roads/vehicles are not something u can always 100% rely upon. Even with the best precautions in place accidents are a part of the transportation process. I've come across cases when the accidents take place somewhere remote and till the time authorities reach there goods even get stolen usually by the locals, and the driver is helpless about it because its 1 v/s many. In this case the thieves might just have been interested in the barrels and even thrown away the pesticides...
Transit insurance although avoided by many manufacturers for their goods in transit because they are of the opinion that the insurance is expensive and then they blame the transporter for the loss, which is unethical as well as dispute creating scenario because no transporter would then agree to transport the material and spread the word of the wrongdoing of deducting losses from his freight.
