Hi, this is Karthik having completed my MBA in HR.
Can anyone let me know what is the salary that a HR fresher could expect .. let say.. for the position of:
1. HR Trainee / HR executive in the IT/ITES/Service sector firm.
2. HR Recruiter in placement consultancies.
The reason I ask this is because most of the companies that I have seen in the past couple of months hardly offer more than 6k-7k per month. The max. I had seen was 7.5k. Is this the industry standards normally ?
Why is a candidate with a P.G in H.R not even eligible for a decent 5 digit figure to start with?
I had an offer for 8k 3 yrs back after having completed just my Bachelor of Science U.G degree !
Kindly enlighten me.

Dear Karthik, value depends on Supply and demand you know.... But for a fresher I would like to suggest you to gather some experience first. Regards

Hi Karthik
I am a fresher as well, looking for a job in a similar setting. In my opinion you are being a offered much below the standards as 20k is the minimum that I have come across this far.
I do agree with Mr Giridhar that the school you would have graduated from makes all the difference. Yet, an MBA certainly deserves more.
Mr. Giridhar - When you say 6 figure salaries for graduates from TISS or XLRI, are you still talking about their starting salary?
ALso, if someone could compare the salaries as well as the exposure in Corporate HR vs. HR consulting.
Thanks alot!
