ESI contribution is @ 1.75% towards Employees contribution and 4.75% towards employers contribution. The wage limit is upto and including Rs. 15000/- In the case of physically handicapped persons with disability of 40% or more they were covered upto the wage limit of Rs. 25000/- per month. For those disabled persons the employers contribution @ 4.75% is not required to be paid by the employer but it will be paid by the Central Government. In other words the disabled persons with disability of 40% or more are required to contribute only 1.75% upto the wage limit of Rs. 25000/- Like wise for lower paid employees whose average daily wage is less than Rs. 70/- per day, they are also not required to contribute their share of contribution @ 1.75% and only the employers contribution @ 4.75% is to be paid by the employer. However they are entitled for all the benefits at par with the employees who are paying employees contribution @ 1.75%
