My dear friends,
Suppose, I got my bonus in the month of December and that is the part of my gross salary for that month. In this case, whether it will be taken into consideration for ESIC or it will be excluded ?
Since, we are not covered under ESIC but this is just to update my self.

Hi
In case of esi facility to the employee is it not necessary for the employer to provide sick leave seperately.I just read this in one site and totally confused. Can anyone please expalin me how it works,

If sick leave is given as leave eligible as per the applicable law, then it should be given even if the employees are covered by ESI. Factories Act is silent about sick leave and therefore, if Factories Act is applicable, then sick leave need not be given to employees whereas if Shops and Commercial Establishments Act which is a state enactment and due to which provisions regarding leave with wages may change from state to state, may have provisions for giving sick leave as in the case of Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, and if so, sick leave should be given irrespective of the fact that the employees covered by ESI get leave from ESIC.
After all for the employers ESI leave means leave without pay.

Agree to Mr. Madhu.
Sick leaves are given to employees as per the leave policy of company. for ex. if you are providing 7 sick leaves per annum, employee is granted these leaves. if leaves he/she has taken exceeds from 7 then exceeded leaves would be leaves without pay which employee can claim from ESIC by showing the medical proofs.
but thats only possible if employee has availed medical benefits from esis during sickness..(do not know whether it is correct fully or not)
