The set up of the HR department depends on the type of company, the total manpower at present and proposed growth and the management philosophy and policy. Assuming that you can get clarity on the above any HR department would have to incorporate the following functions atleast
1. Selection & Recruitment
2. Payroll
3. Training and Development
As the set up grows other more specialized functions like OD, IR etc. would come into play.
