Hi,
If you have not deposited the ESI contributions, you have to deposit the same immediately from October 2009 to February 2010 adding employer contributions @4.75% vide ESI challan in the bank. Keep the triplicate and quadruplicate copy of challan with acknowledgement from bank. After paying the salaries for MArch 2010 you have to deposit the esi contributions before 21st of April 2010.
You have to register your employees under esi and obtain esi identity cards by submitting Declaration forms filled by the employees to your ESI local office.
Fill up the ESI returns in Form 5 for the period from October 2009 to MArch 2010 and submit to your ESI local office with quadruplicate copies of ESI paid challans before 12th May 2010.
Opinion/ comments requested.

Hi Erv
As above you have mentioned your company established in Oct'09 and you got ESI code number in Feb'10
1. Have you got the copies of correspondence exchanged with ESI authorities to allot ESI code to your company from Oct'09
2. Have you deducted the ESI contributions from employees from Oct'09 to till date
3. Pay the total amount of (Employee : 1.75% + Employer:4.75%) ESI contributions from Oct'09 to Feb'10 in a single challan with all the details of employees and wages etc. enclosing the past correspondence and submit the challan in person to the ESI local office - Manager and explain the situation for delayed submission
Hope the above is clear
Tks & Regards

dear praveen,
there are many suggestion may helpfull. but this is more important in every
C-11 (coverage letter) has mentioned provisional date means w.e.f. coverage date or when you submitted Form-01 you will have show a eject date when you told to department your 20 or morethan employees are ready to coverage. in best opinion you must deposite return according your C-11 provisional date. if you deposited extra esi it may adjust coming month.and if you think your coverage made before.you keep your challan for F.D.C.
more detail you can use this....

Dear Mr. Praveen,pl make payment to ESI dept from Oct 09 to 31 Mar 10 in a consolidate challan, but before that you have to calculate employee/employer contributions on gross earnings on Form 7 and subsequently you have to prepare Form 5 i.e return of contributions, which you have to submit most probably in first week of April
