Dear All,

Please advise me...

I was working for a telecom software company for 2 years as a Manager Admin/Hr. I was forced to resign on 18th January by the management since they thought they need a more experienced manager. However, they paid me the 2 months salary in advance and have asked me to apply for provident fund amount after 2 months. The person who asked me to resign was the company's authorized signatory and not my reporting head since he sits in the US . The authorized signatory was giving me the experience and relieving letter with his signatures he had printed the matter on a A4 size paper our company logo was also on it but all in black and white and not on a company letter head. I refused to take it and asked him to give me the originals with the signatures of my reporting head. He said fine. I waited for the letters for almost a month and when the reporting head came from the US last week he has also printed the letter on a A4 size paper with his signatures with black ink which looks like a xerox copy. The A4 size paper has our company logo on top, companies registered office address at the bottom. But no phone no or website or the operating office address on the paper. I need the letters printed on a letter head and do not want to accept like this.

We have ample letter heads in the company and also we always have given employees all the related documents on the letter heads and not like this on a A4 size paper. Please let me know what steps should i take to get these letters since they are important for my career.

Yours is only a grievance and it has no legal validity. There is nothing mentioned in any law that the employer should give service certificate only in multi colour letter head. Certainly if your company's Standing Orders say that all service and other certificates should be given in company's official letter head then your objection is maintainable. In the absence of any such express rule you can not demand that you should be given certificate in colour letterhead. A certificate in black and white letter head with a stamp and signature of the authorised person on it is well accepted also.
