Dear seniors,
I need your valuable suggestions, Currently I am working with an MNC company as a HR executive - Operations, I am working here from past 2+ yrs. Initially i was into recruitments but 4 month back i am shifted to Operations team ( Employee relations). In which i am not interested in this role and there are no chances to go back to previous role in recruitments. I feel that if i be in the present role i may spoil my profile. Now i am into dilemma wheather i stick on to the same role or should i change my job. Please suggest me.
Waiting for your responses.
Thanks,
Reena

why do you think it will spoil ur profile at all. infact ER dept would give u lot of exposure and challenges to deal with.. if your company is a growth oriented company ,you are at the right place. initially i was also only with recruitment and now iam a head hr handling all generalist activities.. i have learnt lots in due course and in handling all the issues of my colleagues well..
all the best,

Hi Mahalakshmi,

He always want me to sit with him while he do some work. But i am unable to understand what he is doing and wat is the procedure. In this case what should i do pls suggest.

Hi! Reena,
I think you got good opportunity to learn key elements in HR Filed. Now a days Employee Relations is giving a vital role in HR Operations. It is the right time to take this opportunity as challenge in your career.
Since, you have not been delegated by any job, I felt your boss is giving you an opportunity to take initiative yourself and being an executive you getting things done through your subordinates rather than you simple sit along with them.
In this movement, I suggest you, to take a meeting with all your subordinates along with your boss and routing the things through proper channel. And a clear cut delegation should be framed in your ER Department, then things will automatically set right.
I will help you proper authority, responsibility and accountability on your department and you may get relief from fatigue.

Hi, Reena
Change is inevitable and change is required.
You sit with your boss and express your feelings on your present job role. And you also share your views how to build effective ER Department with your team members. Invite suggestions from your boss how to build efficiently your team.
Sharing our views will definitely solve your problem.

hi reena,
as rightly said by mr. ramakrishnan, take iniatives on your own in learning the current system and spend good amount of time in knowing ur colleagues as this helps you well once you start your work fullfledged.. also sit with your boss and discuss as to what steps you have taken in understanding ER so far which makes them understand the iniatives and interest u have taken taken ,and discuss for your further understanding what u would require to start working more professionally.
all the best.

Hello Reena,
Actually you are not prepared yourself for the change. Until & unless your mind accepts this change you won't find yourself comfortable with the new role. It is a fact Employee Relatios is a good area to work with. You should accept this a bright oppurtunities. Because it is considered that ladies are excellent on EQ front now you have to prove this thing. And you got more chances to test you EQ in employee relations than the Recruitment.
Now i must say get up with a confidence and start towards the goal. I wish you will achieve the targets.
