Dear all, I am struggling for past one year. My previous employer is not signing on my PF withdrawl form. The FPFO web site clearly says, its not mandatory that withdrawl form has to be signed by previous employer. It can be signed by 1. Manager of your bank ( Nationalised banks only ) 2. Postmaster 3. Any gezetted officer, MLA, MP etc. 4. Public notary Now my question is 1. In which column of PF withdrawl form will the above mentioned people sign ? 2. The PF office is in Delhi and I am residing at Bangalore. Can I send it through registered post ? 3. Can we, The HR people start a movement to bring it to the notice of the govt. the problems faced by us and to remove the column of signature of previous employer or to insert a column for the signature of above mentioned people ? 4. Do we really need the PF ? Regards Vinay

The authorised persons, ie, Bank Manager etc, can sign both form 19 and 10 C. The signature is put as an attestation of the signature of the PF member who is making the application for withdrawal. It is always easy for a Bank Manager to attest signature of a member who has bank account with him. Such kind of attestation is done in the cases where the employer could not be traced and or if the employer refuses to sign the forms. Filled in forms duly attested by the authorised persons shall be sent to the concerned PF office from any where in India or even abroad and not necessarily be as registered post. When the EPFO has already approved some persons as authorised to sign the forms there seems to be no need for a campaign. EPF is a social security scheme by which employees get a lot of benefits. It is an investment as well. You cannot rule out its significance. Regards, Madhu.T.K

Dear Mr.Madhu, Thanks for your valuable reply. But still when I look at the illiterate employees and unskilled workers at factories, facility management companies, we feel bad. Thousands of crores of rupees is lying unclaimed at EPFO because of this problem. Regards Vinay
