Dear Mr. Malik,
In our company we have five days week ( Saturday & Sunday off), if the employees take leaves from Friday to Wednesday, in this case we count the saturday and sunday also in total leave days, means it becomes Five days leave.
Is it the right way to do it ? Any law is there to support it ?
Please provide us your valuable input along with your suggestion.

Dear Ms. Gauri Kulkarni,
Refer to your query. Section 35 of The Bombay Shops & Establishment Act deals with your query. Leave of 5 days for every 60 days of work if the employee works for more than 3 months is provided as per the act.
21 days leave for 240 days worked is granted and accumulationis permitted upto 42 days. Only 26 Jan, 15 Aug, 2 Oct and 1 May are statutory holidays under the act. The act does not provide for Sick Leave, Compassionate Leave, Jury leave and Casual Leaves.
