Hi,
I have clarified earlier with a Labour inspector and also a legal consulatant on this issue.
I am told we need to approach the labour authorities for permisiion to use T&A. In software companies all T&A is automated. It has become the new practice now
With regards,

Dear Friends,
We are using this 'Attendance Card Punching System' since 15 years
No labour officer or Inspector of Factories are objected. But along with
this some of the statutory registers should observe for inspection purpose.
If your area statutory officers may object, please obtain prior permission, its no harm. Since IT world its common.
Regards,
:D
