Dear Santhya,
Provisions of different types of leaves are there in different labour enactments i.e. The Factories Act,1948, The Maternity Benefit Act,1961, State Shops & Commercial Establishment Act & Industrial Establishment ( National & Festival Holidays and Casual & Sick Leaves ) Act. Please examine which Act is applicable to your unit. Payment provisions are also there in these Acts.

dear raj
basically you should not intrupt inbetween and ask seprately if you have any query.we were discussing regarding leave and you are asking about a book on drafting of letters.
you can take a book model forms and precedent by HL KUMAR.this book is related to letters concerned to HR.

Dear Mr. Sumit,
Please specify the act properly. I am sorry if its hurts you. For privilledged Leave for every 20 continues working day, 1 day will be the holiday, its must, apart from that casual and sick leave will be according to ur company policy, how can be biforcated these both as per norms.
National and Festival holidays is minimum 9 days. more than that company top management have to decide. And also if we have to work on the day, we have to submit the letter with dually signed by employer and employee to labour officer and for the same company have to provide extra salary for the employees. something i had said what i know. let we get more comments.

Hi Vishaka,
No it certainly didnt hurt me:)
My idea of writting that post was not to specify acts as it was already there in the thread. I wanted to respond to the query of Satya on what are the general types of leaves and holidays now a days. So I gave him an idea of the same. However the final figures shall be decided by the management or the company and the law of land there only.
Thanks
