Hi,
Need a help, I was working with a company for 3years and got awards from them and also from the client and and client. Last two months (after me coming back from maternity) i do not have any selections as we don't have much client to work., they hardly gave me 5 req and me after sending cvs hey us to put that position ion hold. I was doing client handling but they have stopped that and made my junior to do that. Now they are forcing me to work at some client place which is away from main city. How can i do that when i have 4 months kid at home. I requested them to hold till 2 more months and once he turns 6 months i shall do that, but now they are saying if now or never i.e quit the job and notice period is only 5 days. Can any company do that with a consistent performer for past 3 years? Please suggest. I also have all supporting documents for the same.
what can be done?

Hi M Rama,
There are always two sides of the coins. Considering your side if we go, then what I feel that , since the work is less now as you said, company might be feeling your salary as a burden on them in the recession time, also your jounor must have got trained in your absence , so company can get the work done from the junior at lower cost.
Transfering you to some other place of work it is very clear that , Company may not want to continue with you, so they want you to resign , so they have transfered to to distance place considering your family need , you may not go so long and will resign.
As far as notice period is concerned it should be as per the terms of appopintment.

Thanks, but does that mean that one should not be loyal to the company. Should always check and think of themselves? Espically when i was working in client side they
appreciated and wanted to me work diretly with them on their pay roll, i refused as was very loyal to the company. No i am going there is it right? dont know but what wld be the example set for others??

Rama,
I am not sure if things are going right with every company in the recession period. It will adopt and change the style to survive this recession phase. If we have to survive, we need to change fast and ensure that our contribution and Value is much higher than earlier. This is not an advice but a suggestion during the trouble times.
On the Seperation clause, its again debatable since notice period will be paid to the employee on early exit on company request. Pl check if its mentioned in your letter or Exit policy.

Hi,
I do have a clause and when i checked for that clause i was being told yah for that we are making you to resign or else u wld not get your full and final. Today they are giving me an opting to work on very low salary. I also came to know its was due to input of my new manager who as joined on Nov 1st. He had some problem in the manner the way i talk to his friend who is working in our organisation.
He is also saying i dont go out for team gathering after office hours, i give importance to my 4 months kid.
Now tell me who is wrong? He himself is unmarried should these kids of statements made like this: says one should not recruit femailes who has kids or should not allow them to be back after thier maternity leave.
Is this right??

Rama,
Yes, I do agree with the fact that its not right to make statement's on female employees. You are eligible to raise a case of harresement at work by your Reporting Manager, if your company policy has one. You can inform his Reporting Manger regarding this or concerned HR if you have one.
Feedback from the Manager is always important for an employee to continue in any company. Suggestion to come out this situation is to have a open discussion with him and let him know your constrains.
I could feel that your boss is a type who needs to pampered with...so do that. Go to him and make him feel that he is important. Involve him in all your decision making and take his suggession even if you are not going to implement that.

Dear Rama
I understand your problem. However you have taken your maternity leave. After the 3 months company is not liable to give any more maternity leave. They have full right to place (post) you. Also it depends upon the company HR policy how to treat a new mother expecially when she is back form maternity leave. We live in the world of gender equality. We ask for equal payment. Beyond a certain point we shopuld not ask for personal favours. If so the company will have to take care of all the women employees.
If you dont want to leave your child, ask for a without pay leave.
This way your problems will be solved. accept the challenge.
YOU HAVE TO DECIDE.
