Dear All, Can you share your views regarding Temp Staffing... like whether it is beneficial or not...etc,.. Regards Vishal Shah

Hi Vishal,
The common answer to this would be that Temp Staffing has its own set of pros and cons.
However, much depends on the company hiring such services. Sure employees are a part of the third party vendor. Although HR Admin, Payroll, Help Desk, etc responsibilities lie with the agency, a few responsibilities have to be taken up by the client as well. Regular monitoring, maintanence of attendence, regular feedback to the third party vendor, etc are some of the duties to be taken up by the client.
Therefore, if used well this kind of hiring is very useful considering present market trends.

While hiring temp staff, how do we ensure confidentiality of our company information and avoid misuse of company data?

hi guys,
It is beneficial because you end up saving company's money. Aas far as confidentiality of information is concerned, Non disclosure phrase is legally a part of any contract or appointment letter. So, when you will issue a contract to a contractor, he is going to put a receival & acceptance on that. If he/she doesn't follow the same, then the company owns full right to terminate the contract due to integrity issue.

Who says you save more...guys just have a look at the same from a larger perspective and looking at the overall impact of the same you will find that u infact end up paying more...(dont just look at the cost only)..but yes the only benefit i found out of this was company gets rid of the liabilities and legalities..thats it......nothing else.......

tamp. staffing helps in reducing costing. suppose u get a project for which u hire candidates who are specialized on that. after completion of proj. u need to bring similar kind of proj. else u would unnecessarily be affording the cost of the salry which are paid to these employees. But if they are on contract with u so after execution of proj. u can ask them to leave & if u have another similar proj. ahead the contract period can be extended. If u wish u can take any of them on ur payroll as well.

Hello all,
It is true to say that every type of employment have their own pros and cons.
Above everything Temp staffing has proved itself as a cost effective method that allows companies to concentrate on their core businesses and reduce the burden of people management considerably. At the same time it can be disasterous for any company to employ temp staffing without a right mix of Full time and senior level employees who have the complete knwoledge and experience of handling contractors. At times temping can go out of control and things can go the wrong way if they do not know what they are doing. I have also seen companies turning towards temping more due to the up-selling from Staffing companies when there is actually no need for temping.
Temping is most often good for companies who can show considerable savings, but when it comes to the contractors, I feel sorry for them because contracting increases the unstability in their lives by multiple times.
