Applicability of Labour laws are not generally based on type of Industry.
You have to check the applicability of each act which is defined in the act itself.
Some of the enactments / labour acts are given for your reference in the attached file.

There is no accepted relaxation given to IT industry with regard to labour legislations. However, some Acts are applicable to certain scheduled employment only. At the same time with the extension of definitions to cover 'establishments' all most all sectors are covered by the various laws. This is because, even in IT sector human element is present and as such no special treatment shall be given to them. There were so many representations from the IT based establishments to exempt them from the ambit of labour laws. But I don't think that Indian law permits such kind of treatment to a particular industry which is also engaged in the process of exploitation of human resouces and minting huge profits.

I have cross checked many books, IP Act, General & Commercial Laws, Labor & Industrial Law but I did not get single reference where I can take legal action against erring Employee or Absconding employees.
Is there any law where Software companies can be covered ??
Are software developers or professionals or IT professionals Covered under Definition of Labor??
