I am a new member of forum.I am an mba student doing my summer project on Induction manual, wherein i have to prepare a induction manual for my company. Can anyone tell me what all need to be included in a induction manual. If anyone can send a format it will be a great help.

Hi!!
The best way to go about designing an induction manual is to first study the existing one in the organization.Generally an induction manual will have information about the company such as when was it founded, its history,mission statement, vision, objectives,products etc.
Some company's may be more specific and want an induction manual for specific jobs. for eg: sales.Then you have to include the job description and other details about the particular job.

I think the induction Manuel first should include facts about the inception of the company. And then the company vision, mission, objectives should be outlined. Then the organization’s business functions and mile stones should be reflected.
It is important to let the new recruit know that he/she has made a wise decision in selecting your organization. You have to interpret how your organization will help each individual grow which in return will help the company grow. The induction manual should contain material which will let the new recruits know that they are valuable to the company.

When u have to make a induction programme for any organization , it is important that it should reflect the culture of ure organization. the culture can be reflected with the key people, So u need to arrange a platform where all of them talk abt the milestones , vision , mission etc.
Then the programme should be to introduce u with ure fellow members and ure seniors.

The Induction Manual's contents can differ from Co. to Co.....I'll juz giv u a brief idea of what can be included.

A diagramatic representation of the branch ( as in the heads of the diff depts.)

One one page devoted to the diff functions of the HR, Infrastructure development, library,Finance, Admin etc. (All these teams ), so that they have clear idea as to whom to visit for what purpose.

Next a few pages, with the screenshots of the portal which we use here for all the puposes, viz Updation of Employees details, bank detais, PF/Gratuity/Superannuation nomination ,leaves, travel request etc etc....
