Dear Freda,
Shop & Establishment Act says that no employee shall be require or allowedf to work for more than 9 hrs in a day & 48 hrs in a week, and the period of rest shall exceed five hours & that such person shall work for more than 5 hrs before he has an interval for rest for atleast 30minutes.
So if you will increse the period for lunch definately work would hamper & also that would be wrong so try to make it for 30 minutes not 1 hrs 30 minutes so that you can follow the Act.
And also if employees are coming late after lunch issue one IOC to all the departments mentioning late coming after luch would not be accepted.
Regards
Priyanka

Hello,Dear ALL
First, I have to apologize for being so late reply. Because I was busy these days!
Well, for this case, I already informed my headquater HR, and she said she will ask CEO and then reply me.
We 're a freight forwarding company, and we work from monday to friday, plus saturday half day, due to Saturday is our chinese official holiday, and we work on saturday, so we consider to balance this, that is to increase help hour to lunch time!
Thanks for all your help. I will let all you know after my headquater HR give me reply.
Thanks again!
Sincerely, Freda

Consult business heads and find out lead time in production.Target achieved by them shows employee in tune with organizations growth. Some of the young employees can be motivated for special training to meet the shortfall of production. This responsibility should be taken by business heads.Incentives must be hatched out for some employees to work on a particular time.
Thus giving branch mangers and others their share of greater responsibility and canvassing them their win-win situation for lunch break and simultaneously enjoying the pleasant working hours decided by them only.
Hr in this situation playing a vital role for employee growth as well as organisatioal growth.

This is not advisable to increase lunch break from 1 hour. I hour is more enough. We can complete lunch maximum within half an hour. rest of the time staff can spend on reading news papers.
I dont think increasing lunch time from 1 hour is not good idea

I Have a query, as per section 52 of Factories act max working hours are 9 per day. Can we add lunch and tea breakes and make ot 9 + 40 + 10 + 10 = 10 Hrs.
From India, Pune
Instead of keep flexible lunch hours of one hour as per need of employees they can adjust time during 9AM to 6PM.
This is much better instead of fixing time. One and half hour will applicable for wild animals lunch time because the eat too much like lion, tiger,etc....
