Punish such guy so that he wont repeat such behaviour ,if he has a considerable history of such behaviour he should be terminated.
No company should take such matters lightly ,and employee should show awareness of rights so that company would be compelled to take action.
Employees should not tolerate such behaviour ,otherwise company culture would be spoiled.

I am amazed that you have posted this question and not taken any action so far. Just because a person (does not matter male or female) has come to work on a project, (s)he should not not be subjected to harrasment of any type, let alone physical abuse. He should be reported straight away to management.
Have a nice day.

Dear Shallini,

I am sure you have enough information on the course of action by exprts above.

Sometimes, I really wonder why our colleagues do not say anything against this criminal activities/miscreants just for a fear of something that they create in their institution. Keeping quite is a way you are informing the miscreant that you are enjoying it. What you have mentioned is termed as sexual harassment. The miscreant should be punished now and immediately.

Ask the girl to just go and "SLAP" that stupid staff in front of everyone (Sorry for being rude, but couldn't stop), so that her self pride remains and is not embarrassed rest of her life. Have enough supporters also available when she is encountering this monster of your office.

My advice to the Trainee "Complaint about the miscreant to the manager first immediately in writing and verbally and if he does not take action in 2 days, have a complaint lodged at nearest police station under the section "Sexual Harassment". This will have both of them behind bars and a disciplinary action initiated by the state bodies.

Common take action immediately and post the reaction. Any problem let me know your location and we will have supports for you.

All the best.

Regards,

Ukmitra

Just for your information:

According to The Supreme Court definition, sexual harassment is any unwelcome sexually determined behaviour, such as:-

Sexual Harassment takes place if a person:

makes an unwelcome demand or request (whether directly or by implication) for sexual favours from another person, and further makes it a condition for employment/payment of wages/increment/promotion etc.

makes an unwelcome remark with sexual connotations, like sexually explicit compliments/cracking loud jokes with sexual connotations/ making sexist remarks etc.

shows a person any sexually explicit visual material, in the form of pictures/cartoons/pin-ups/calendars/screen savers on computers/any offensive written material/pornographic e-mails, etc.

engages in any other unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature, which could be verbal, or even non-verbal, like staring to make the other person uncomfortable, making offensive gestures, kissing sounds, etc.

The girl has two remedies:
1. Go to her superiors/ HR manager/ or any person in such authority to take action
2. She can also file an FIR against that man. She has the right to take legal action.
You can also gather other females who have suffered this similar problem, it will help strengthen your case.

in fact, what and how i consider this case is that you people must inform the manager concerned because otherwise it will bring defame to the company as well instead of the victim.

Shalini ji , as per my suggestion you or the right concerned person must approach the manager otherwise instead of the victim it will bring defame to the organization as well.

This sounds like slavery. How can one tolerate this today. Wake up girls. It’s a disgrace - raise your voice. Complain that you are being harrassed.

Ofcourse any kind of physical offense should be brought to the notice of management...And how much ever the experience is, a person can't escape from the consequences of such disgusting acts....
