Interesting discussion, though I think hers was a question (whether such a feature existed) and not really a demand (bring in such a feature).
Making user lists accessible will make them vulnerable to spam campaigns too. Much better this way.

Privacy on the net is an illusion but I would still like to preserve it. Giving out additional details beyond what is given in the forum would not be a good idea.

Dear Devibala,
I have not come across any consolidated list.
In my experience of interacting in Cite HR it is possible to get in touch with
any individual provided that person has contributed to a thread by starting or by participation.
By design, in Cite HR there are various segments like HR, Training, Talking to Seniors etc
and once you browse topics of your choice, you can get in touch with another member through
the forum. The present arrangement is providing enough avenues.

Dear Devibala

Normally everyone interested to maintain the anonymity, to secure their privacy as well as their livelihood. If you are having any specific requirement regarding your subject, then select the concerned forum and raise your query in new thread. I am sure, if your query is genuine, you will get adequate and correct reply.

Further, four years back one Mr. Venkat asked us to like his page, so that he will send some useful materials. On utmost good faith many of us liked his page, and with that like he tracked everyone's email address and started sending some photos, jokes and other irrelevant materials on daily basis. Further the provision for unsubscribe the mail was not available. Hope everyone started deleting the mail by seeing the name itself, like what I have done. Nowadays we are receiving rare mails from him. This will eat away our mobile data and due to that mails the important mails are not being received properly due to want of space/insufficient data availability in mobile.

If you want to contact for any personal reason, please do send the private message, so that our friends will contact you without fail.

Dear Mr.Bhaskar and Raghunathan Sir,
Thanks for your kind reply.
I just enquired whether it is possible. We could have made a full stop if somebody like raghunathan sir just informed that it is not possible.
Thanks though.
Its a good lesson in life that there are many ways that our words & intentions may be interpreted in a different way. I am using citehr more than 10 years and it was surprising to note a different thoughts.
This is the only cite which had helped / helping my career to grow professionally and I am always thankful to all the people who share their experience & guidance.
With Best Regards

I would thank Devibala for the nice words about citeHR and its usefulness. I am not an Adminr.of citeHR, but my hunch is still the listing is possible with all the software available now a days but for obvious reasons cannot be shared. if Devibalaji's query is limited only to know "if it is possible ?" I think it can be replied thus. At the same time it has already been made clear 'it is not possible' to share in as many words. Devibalaji need not feel either discouraged or anything else. Had he mentioned the intentions at the initial stages itself discussions won't have traveled thus far I think. I think nobody is trying to find fault for raising the query. All is well.

Devibala,

You have been a member of CiteHR for close to 6 years. I am sure that if any of your friends are also CiteHR members, they would have found you by now.

In a similar vein, as you are a long standing member, and regularly follow postings on the site, then there is a good chance that you would have found some of your friends and colleagues if they are members.

I would reiterate my previous advice. ASK your friends and colleagues if they are members, and if not, encourage them to join us.

I am sure it is possible for the owner of CiteHR to produce such a list, but once again, I would remind you that there are privacy issues here. I suspect it would be necessary for every member to give explicit permission to be included in such a list. In any case, many members (such as me) use aliases, so there would be no value in the list anyway.

In addition, you could post a message asking for any other Madras members to contact you. There may also be a Madras CiteHR local group already in existence. Could any other Madras members post a message regarding this?
