The slab limit on employer's part will remain the same, i.e. Rs. 780 (12% of Rs. 6500). But the employee's contribution will be calculated on the gross pay (less HRA). If one gets a basic of say, Rs.15000 and his DA is 80% his gross pay will be Rs.27000. Now the p.f. deduction would be on Rs.27000. So Rs.3240 will be employees share and 780 would be employer's share.

Sir, Let me know the PF recent amendment for deduction PF amount from gross salary Regards, S. Venkatesh
From India, Thiruvananthapuram

Why not legislative amend in the wage ceiling of Rs. 6500 of the EMPLOYEES PROVUDENT FUND & MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS ACT 1952 to Rs. 15000 as done in the ESI ACT 1948 to clear the confusion created by the recent circular of the EPFO, defining the Basic wages ?
Raising the wage ceiling of Rs 6500 and currentrates of EPS shall ensure not only more savings for employees in addition to increased pension on retirement which currently is meager and insufficient and serves no purpose as thought in 1995 compared to running inflation.

Dear Friends
As per latest circular issued by the epfo the epf contribution will be one basic+da , food allowance and any undefined wages
such as special allowance and other allowance and commissions which is deemed as part of basic wages
further where there is splitting of gross wages which is unjustifiable the allowances can be considered as part of basic wages
apart from the above circumstance the epf calculations remains same as it is

Dear all
1 )the 12 % epf (employee share) must deducted from basic + da (old circular).
But in recent circular epf will be deducted in gross salary only at 12%.
And also
employer add following contributions:
2) pension contributions is (8.33%) if wage >=6500 = 541.00 or 8.33 % in gross salary
+
3) eployees provident fund is (3.67%) or difference amount = employee share -
pension amount (541)
-----> employee share (12%) + employer share (3.67%) or difference amount + pension
contribution (541.00)
the above three contributions will be paid throug online ecr challan.

Hello all,
Today I had a meeting with PF Officer ( Ahmedabad ) , he has informed me that government has just declared the notice on 30-11-2012 but applicability is pending, due to election and other reason we will declare it on later on. Every establishment who are covered in the PF will receive official letter from PF office regarding applicability and eligibility after that we will deduct PF from GROSS SALARY.
So kindly just wait for letter from PF Office.
Thanking you,
Ashish
