Whatever happened in Maruti Suzuki is beyond thought of any normal person, but such type of gruesome incidents happens only because of growing helplessness over a long period , animal traits take over man traits , man starts behaving like animal for short period of time . Our employment system need to be revamped which should be totaly based on merit as per job requirements. Govt to take some concrete steps and also make a rule for equal wages for equal work linked to productivity and profitability of plant as well as linked to inflation . no wage agreements , only annual increments as wage agreements and other demands leads to tussle . There must be clear cut employment guidelines from govt ................

Hitting till the death incident was occurred in 2008 in Italian company of Indian CEO then CII did survey of 400 H R Executives and came to know that Labour Laws knowledge, industrial relation was lacking.

The death of HR Head indeed sad demises and also labour unrest being occurred in Maruti suzuki (4th strick in a year and total 11 strike)another japan's company Hitachi in Kadi, Gandhinagar + another japan's company Honda Motor cycle + GM company in Halol for 6 weeks and 3 weeks tricks by Textiles Mills associations in Gujarat so these all is questioning to H R (un)professional who are working in the organizations that what could be the actual role of HR to

maintain industrial peace and organizational culture.

we, as career in HRM/HRD, must stop blaming on employees.

In the case of GM companpy, Hitachi and Association of Textiles Mills Association in Gujarat, Government has played significant role as conciliation and succeeded to resolve problemmes.

No, Rochak well first i would like to convey my best and good wishes to you for your bright and good future. Second, the information you have provided is wrong because it is not like that worker/employee hate HR people but yes, there are something, which we still need to correct or develop in our relation between Worker and Management (HRM).
HR is the only department who controls and provides the services to all and other departments comes under any organization. Workers/employees are also knows about us that we are working and here for them but sometime, I would say we failed to set up a good understanding and relationships or work failed to understand that we always are in service for them. These differences create problems, which needs to control which is a big job and a prime motive of Human Resource Management.

It is really concerning to HR fraternity that industrial unrest is continuously plaguing Maruti Udyog at Manesar. What I understand is that the cause for workers rage.had behavioural overtones. I entirely agree with Anil.K Arora's views. The economies the world over, have evolved from the old agrarian to industial economies and to modern knowledge econimies, bringing in it's trail a cahnge in workers' knowledge and personality profile.A more aware and mobile phone using knowledge worker has emerged. This necessitated change in HR's preceptions from the traditional Personnel Mangement which was mostly concerned with 'hire and fire' system, to the more humane modern HR which recognises a worker or an employee as a resource but not another factor of production like capital. I think the HR needs to focus on reorienting the attitude and behaviour of the supervisory satff that are in immediate contact with workers so as to make them aware of the changing social climate of the industry through a proper training.

Dear members,
This is really hard to be trust on such violent death of Mr.Avinash.We all can prevent such actions only when there is no external political interfere in the union.Govt is also now intending to take such measures that there is no provision for affiliation of any trade union with any political party.
At this situation i only can express my this view for all of your supports

Dear All,
I am very small in knowledge as compare to you, i am also working as HR Executive in a company and having 3.4 years of experience in some manufacturing company. I don't have experience in MNC or Big/Large organization like Maruti. I have worked in small and middle level organization, where i have found that much injustice is done in these orgainzations with workers. As HR when i take round inside the plant, we have seen much anger is filled in the workers. Management just keep the HR personnel to exploit the workers and impose their unfair rules to workers through HR. Since HR person do all these activities, He fall prey of anger of these labours.

Dear Munnabhai,
The Employees union in Maruti Suzuki, Manesar plant, Union is not affiliated to any political party/political union and the union and management was under process to decide agreement on future wage settlement.

This is a case of gruesome behaviour born out of an insane mind. The culprits should be brought to book and awarded exemplary punishment. How can the persons think of destroying the plant, which is giving them bread.Such type of incidents are happening because the authorities are not taking appropriate actions as deemed fit under the circumstances against the perpetrators of crime taking law into their own hands. All of us are required to wake up and be firm in tackling this type of militancy on the part of the Unions.
