Dear Swati
Thanks for participating in the thread...
I could locate the below link from your inputs:
Ergos Ergomates
The ergomate was really new to me, first of all thanks a lot for educating me... I think the northernsafety is from New York, whether this product is available in India? If you know any supplier in India do let me know... Surely will like to advice my management to go for trial basis for ergomate for this particular job...
Also thanks for your inputs on height safety aspects... Surely we will consider....

Can anyone come up with a solution....

Dear Dipil,
As I mentioned earlier converse and Timberland shoes gives a high slip resistance while working on roofs. See the attached pictures for your view and use.
What I suggest prior to purchase Converse or Timberland shoe please request data sheet from manufacture and explained your issue’s it will help to vendor suggest a right shoe for you because it’s quite expanse each pair comes around 5000 to 6000 INR.
Do you remember you introduced one of our senior member who worked in shoe industry I think 6 months ago he given a good suggestion on safety shoe query’s on our thread (Sorry I forget his name and can’t find that thread as well) lets use him on this issue I hope he will help you or go with my suggestion.
Keep on update until you get solution.

Dear Dipil,
I am sorry I did not participate on this thread as it used to take too long to open the attachment.
Now as I opened it, I could understand your problem.
Please let me know what is the height of at the Tie level of the structure and what is the maximum height.
However as you know PPE is the last defence, you should focus on engineering controls.
I know one such fall arresting equipment.
It is manufactured by M/S latch ways, the Indian Dealer is M/s Vijaynath Interiors and Exteriors.

Dear Sir

Thanks for your participation into the thread...

I know about the company and the Country Manager of M/s. Latchways one Mr. Rahul Bahti who is looking after the overall business in India from Latchways side... He has come to our plant through our corporate safety cell and had a site survey already... We are expecting his quotation to go ahead... The first opinion of mine is they are best but not cheap also... Safety becoming more expensive nowadays and the live example is entrance of international groups like latchways in India with their highly quality product...

The main issue is not with the fall arresting... We are using individual life lines with fall arrestor for working personal on top to prevent the fall.. Even though if we able to implement the Latways fall protection system in this particular job, still the foot protection will be a concern... Working on barefoot can cause foot injury due to the sharp edges of sheets, nut & bolts and due to hot surface of sheets...

So looking forward to get a particular solution to this case...

The maximum height of the shed is 35 meter...

Dear Dipil,
We are also constructing a big structure of similar height.
In addition to EHS responsibility, I also look after engineering and civil projects. The designs are reviewed with Health and Safety point of view.
Usually the roof slope is one in ten. In your case the slope looks to be more. What is the specific reason for such slope.
(probably bee heaves problem was on the same structure. You said the bees sat on helmet of a workmen. Do you any photo of this case, as it is unique, it would help in trainings. We also had bee heave on one of the perlins which was removed by M/s Palve Pest Controls)
Coming back to the subject, you can try sports shoes for this specific purpose which are light weight and are anti skid type.
Pl let us know the results after you take suitable actions.
Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir

Dear Sir

Regarding the slope of the structure, I am not sure, may be due to it's long span this comes... The shed is of 300 Meter Long, 96 meter span and in a slope of 17 degree... It is claimed to be India's largest coal shed by our project people... However will think upon the exact reason of high slope and will let you know... However now it's so happened and we can't think of reducing the slope or bring any change in its design at this stage...

We were earlier experience the honey bee problem in this particular shed erection work itself... But I don't have any photographs of the same... Regarding my earlier thread on honey bee issue (https://www.citehr.com/402667-issue-...oney-bees.html) you have suggested to contact M/s. Palve Pest Control... I have talk him over phone, taken his email id, send all the issue... Not get any help... In the reminding call he assured me that will tell me the name of the chemical which I can use and they can't provide services here to me as it's far away from them... In the same thread you can see one Capt Rajeshwar Singh also commented and suggested to go for asking help from Central Bee Research and Training Institute... Contacted them also over phone and mail, no inputs... Still this issue also not get resolved... However we not getting the problem with honeybee after removing the high visibility jacket by the workers on the top, hence for the mean time give up behind that thread... I don't know whether this is the factor which help us or not... However let's hope for the best and think of this will not happen in future... For removing fixed honey bees we are having local party, they come and remove the bee combs on chargeable basis... But this issue was something different and not get any solution...

Then regarding the sports shoes, we have already tried the same, not fulfilling the purpose... Today tried the Natural Rubber Soled Safety footwear also... It was shocking to hear the practical experience of the workers that Rubber Soled Safety Footwear slips more than that of PU Soled safety footwear.... Really its become a concern for us now...
