As I think u need to register under shops and establishment act
As only family members are involved as of now,you can give define a designation in your company and who ever joins you,you should give appointment letter,and later u can implement Policies and procedure as per statutory requirements, It is good idea to build the system when you are small, and can update it as per requirements.   • Based on whatever information you have shared on this thread about your new business venture I can suggest following:
  • You are not at all in a big problem as stated by you and at this stage of your new business, you need to concentrate more on other core business activities like developing products, streamlining production and supply and more importantly finding customers and satisfying them.
  • Since you do not have employees and since all others involved in your business are your family members, I do not see any scope here to implement any HR Systems.
  • There is no scope and no need of using any HR Software also. I guess total family members involved in your business will not be more than 5-6. Moreover they are not employees, you can call them your partners.
  • Possibly there are only two things you need to do right now from HR point of view i) register your business under Karnataka Shops & Establishment Act, after throughly checking the need of registration and it's implications ii) Fix exact roles and responsibilities of all the family members involved in the business to ensure success of your business.

  • Why how and what makes you think that there is a need of HR application operating on a SaaS model in this business where there are zero employees and total people involved are 5 or 6, that too all family members (possibly partners not employees).
