Thnx everybody for ur useful comments.... my current company;s HR is saying that "if you do not have a releving letter we can't process ur PF trasfer" . Is the releving letter from previous employer is necessary to get it trasfered.. ? "I can't see any clause in the form 13 saying that the proof of end of employment is required"

The way you exit the company is not complete. The employer and employee relationship was not severed just by absconding or quit on your own. At your discretion you left the company without any expectation why do you look for small part of the contribution?. As an employer, your previous company, may feel that you have deviated the procedure set by them for parting which may become precedent. However, employer do not have any right on the contributions paid to PF. For seeking transfer of funds youneed to submit form 13, for closing (form 19 & 10c) have to be sent to your previous employer. they may not acceede your request. Hence, it is advisable to route through PF authorities for closing or through your current employer for transfer and pursue
