Hi,
Attitude can be changed by a combination of training and mentoring.
At least for those people who have been identified for fast track or who have been identified for senior positions in the organization through a succession planning.
A combination, of experiential learning, out bound training and regular mentoring and periodical feed back to a set of targetted employees can definitely bring in the desired change.
It also requires unrelenting passion and commitment from the trainer and the organization to sustain and give timely reinforcements.
Even this has been proven in companies that had hard core industrial relation problems and through the combination of these, they have achieved marvellous results.
Kind regards

Dear Nikhil,
Your question demand some sort of explanation, first of all you should remember that training is only provided to make the loss that occurs in one knowledge and to improve the behavior of an employee. if there is any lack in the character of a person , no amount of training in the world can change it and attitudes comes from that. attitude problem that occures if low in kind can be improved through, role - play, behaviour - modelling, sensivity - training.

I agree with Pieter. Attitude reform training is not a mere class room exercise. External OD interventions also have little impact. It's done partly through OJT also. While the work culture & corporate environment are great contributors, the immediate reporting managers have a major role to play. What we encourage or promote through our R&R programs aimed at attitude reforms, will have a long & lasting effect. Every one like appreciation and what we appreciate in employees will have greater impact on shaping their behavior, attitude, personality & commitment for change.
