Dear Mr.Sunil Kumar,
You can take the help from your colleagues who share your thoughts.
You can have training or workshop on "Work place ethics".
Train these people on Interpersonal skills and communication.
Send these people for Training away from your office so that they are able to evaluate and compare them selves with other professionals.
You can also observe "No Bad Words day" as we have "Traditional days" etc.
You can share books on communication skills with them.
Help them with PPts on the same.
You can experiment for some time .
But if it still continues talk straight to them and politely express the difficulty felt by all especially the female collegues.
Thanks

Dear, Don't left the job......my mail signature statement I want to share here....."Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience....." I think rajrishi rathore is right, the hr people can change others...don't change your attitude and don't change yourself ....keep mum when they use abuse language....silence is the best language and everybody understand this language....even 3 year child also understand silence language....so take this as a chalange and change them.

I would like to suggest you that you should also raise your voice and start giving proper feedback to them. Once or twice you can tolerate but every time you should not tolerate their words. One hindi proverb is there : " Kaato ko Kato se hi nikalana chahiye" you should follow the same and try to identify or highlight their mistakes. Still if you feel uncomfortable you have to start finding a new job.
Kind regards
Jahagirdar
Wish you happy new year - 2010. All the best.

Dear Friend,
A question that I would like to ask you is - would you think you should give up the best thing in your life, becuase somebody else does not know how to behave? It would make sense if your seniors leave because they probably dont know mannerism.
I hope this behaviour of theirs is not affecting other people's work, or is disturbing them in any way at all.
You have mentioned that you have come from a very respectful family, and please note that a very few people are there who are blessed to have a good family that teaches them values. And it is these values that teach us how to tolerate and ignore such abusive language, and never fall a prey into that - or even spoil our mind because of that. The weak would either give in, or be completely broken because of this.
Never let frustration put you down, and that too for someone else crossing their lines.
What goes into one's mouth does not decide whether he is good or bad, rather what comes out talks about the person. Ignore - you have better things to do in life.

if they are investors or investors are also behaving like this, it can be a culture issue. Better not to attempt Be Mod kind of exercises ( it won't work).
Search for another suitable position elsewhere, quit the job and get relieved properly.

Hi Esskay,
Its very sad to hear that they are abusing on parents and siblings. It shows their culture. You dont have to worry about what they say. If Dog barks looking at a mountain, nothing is going to be wrong with the mountain, isn't it? Your aim is to achieve goal in your life. To achieve your goal you have to make your job secure. Let hundreds of people tell thousand things about anyone, you dont give ears to those words which are worthless to you. Just ignoring them and their words is the best way to survive. A person who gets up with anger, always sits with a loss! So have patience, and ofcourse you will succeed. Believe in yourself and believe in God, HE will take care of everything. Just you have to control your mind and one day you will control the world. If there is anything else, pls contact me at kalaiarasi.r(at)gmail(dot)com

Dear Kamlesh
Thanks a lot I am very much satisfied with your suggestion. All of my senior are relatives to our owner thats why they are using such type of abusive language. In fact they all are 12th or simple graduate and they are working as VP level. Inhone mujhe rulaya hai, main inhe rulaounga. I am happy with your sentence JEENA HAI TO SHAAN SE NAUKRI JAAI TO JAAI.

You can take up the situation as a challenge or cry foul and run away........I went through a similar situation, in fact I moved from an educational institution..where 'Ma'am, please, thank you' was the order of the day....to an organisation which bandied about four letter words, in fact I thought that every one had a four letter surname or prefix to theirs. Well first thing I objected to was using this in my cabin/ in meetings where I was present or even in my presence. Well initially they made fun of me and my delicate sense.....well later they understood that there was a more cultured world out there and that they needed to connect with it to exist in a corporate world......You being the HR guy can sure bring changes[ it takes time]. Try, at least your colleagues who you leave behind should say 'That gentleman did try'. You could also try packing of these seniors for a stint in an other organisation for sometime in the guise of 'etiquette training':)

As an HR Manager such things can not be tolerated. And if it is respectles place why should you continue there try for other good company that you like to work. And also Some time we also to be bold enough to work with such charcters. Otherwise you can not survive in this profession.
