Thanks Ajay,
But after escalting the matter to the Senior HR manager --
we have casually fixed 3 weeks for utilizing the comp-Offs. comp offs can be availed only after due approval from the Reporting managers, and directing it to the HR for documentation. all these will happen on the intranet by mail and no hard copies are filed. untill an alternate arrangement is made we are required to follow.
Hope this will be helpful for people in similar situations. :)

Hi,
It Depends on @ what level the employee is, whether Middle Mgt, or Lower levels, and also on the Policy regulating compensatory off in the Company. Generally he will be entitled for it as he is working on a Non Working day.
Regarding LTA few inputs:
Fix the Elgibility.
Fix one months Basic pay as Max limit for LTA
it should be avaiable for spouse children and dependent parents only.
it sould be given once in a year with prior approval of leave.
discourage carry forward of previous year LTA to next year.
LTA for only travel in that particular country.
Mode of travel to be decided by the company, preferably by 2nd A/C Train.
Lay down a clear format to collect, information for necessary Tax deductions.

Ideally ramona it would be advisable if adequate care is taken while sanctioning compensatory off taking into consideration who is going to caover the person who is going on leave as this off could haven during a busy normal week day.If more no of personell are there then rotate the day of their off so that the normal functioning of the office is not disturbed.

Shalini T,
Yes he is entitled for compensatory leave while working on Sunday and out of station..meaning while in India. If in another country then i doubt it would be applicable but again depends on what kind of Hr policy is devised for such cases.
Again depnds on how senior the person is .In most of the cases such leaves are not availed but such policy is also there in the company manual.
