Dear All,
The company can change the notice period anytime but it should be circulated to employees as some amendment is done. But also depends on the strength of the company and most important professionalism of the company.
Please do check your appointment letter carefully, as in some appointment letter, there is a clause which states that company has the right to revise the policy anytime and you will abide by the same.
As per me, you should talk to the HR after reading the appointment letter. Clarify with them and act accordingly.

Hi,
Yes,company can change the notice period after amendment of there policy. but this amendment be notified and should not have retrospective effect. ie should be effective for new joiner. or if it have retrospective effect then it should be intimated to all the employee who all will be affected by such change.
If they have not give such intimation, then they cannot impose it on you forcefully, be brave and fight for your right.
Best Regards

Hello Rinshad,
Though Management has every right to amend the policies at any point of time including the notice period but the same should be circulated to all the employees and should get signature of all employees for acceptance of 2 months notice period (for those employee who join before the changes/ Appointment letter having terms and conditions of one month)
As appointment letter is kind of bond of terms and conditions applicable and accepted by both employee and employer,in your concern 30 days notice period is valid...no need to serve on 60 days notice period (if HRD has not circulated the concern notice of 60 dyas notice epriod and if you have not signed any copy/draft/document of same)
Talk to HRD first with all clarifications about it.

The management is ultimate authority to change and include new amendments in the policies. But it must be communicated and circulated to each and every employee of the organization. Unless and until if it’s not communicated or documented no body can enforce any sought of action against the violation of rules which changes time to time.

Dear
Regarding the same I would like to confirm you that it's clearly mention in the appointment letter.Secondaly there is one more thing that the number of days can be increase if you have got your confirmation letter also but the same should be mentioned in the appointment letter also.

No, Very clear they can't change notice period without intimating employees.
But we all know, there is no idea to fight with them at any topic because if you want to leave you should need releaving letter. You can request them in written that I was not aware of that and Company did not inform us anymore. I m in extreem situation.

Rinshad, If comapany did not keept you aware of change of duration of notice period and you have not given any acknowledge to company then offcource it is only one month.

As many of you said appointment letter is the final one and it is like agreement between employer and employee.if suppose management wants to change the notice period employeer should inform employee through notification and get concurrence from the concerned employees, otherwise it won't hold good.
