The salary, which is creating problems for you, must have been decided by your MD. And MD will not give so much salary winthour any reason. It may be your job knowledge, sex, your personality, your communication skills or whatever, which has made you so high salaried. So there is no cause to worry. Politics always has been a part of corporates so dont be tense and face it bravely.

This is a common problem faced by everyone. A company hires a person from another company on a higher ctc coz new person may bring innovation, previos co's culture (helpful to org if positive), and proven track record of the individual. Unfortunately, his/her colleague do not understand it.
I believe, you should not change your behaviour towards them and treat them as you were treating till date. Once you prove your worth they will not question. If problem persists you will have to approach your seniors.
I know organizations plan a standardization in the ctc of the employees at the same level at certain intervals. This may also resolve your problem.

The reason you are paid high is bcoz u deserved it.... u need to focus more on your work and not to what people have to say..... the world speak's on and on but it actually depends upon how u take things...... This is one method to demotivate you so that you do not perform.. and other's getr a chance to let you prestige be down in front of the Director ,etc..... Always remeber you work for money.....no one in this world would work for free..... not even your MD.... so just do your work and leave the rest....

The solution to your problem is twofold.
1. For now, as Ash suggested, ignore others and try your best to (learn and) protect yourself from the dirty side of office politics.
2. Take this as a lesson learnt. NEVER in your life again discuss your compensation package with ANYONE other than your direct manager and your family. Your direct manager knows your salary because (s)he is the one signing off on your performance appraisals etc. Your family - you can trust them (I hope).

Nice that you are being paid well, Ask yourself do you deserve it, if yes be happy and enjoy it, certainly people will feel differently about it, they aslo will know your worth and accept it in due course, you can not shut every talking mouth and should not make an effort also, but certainly you can be calm , cool collect and befitting your position and make no foes intentionally,best way is to maintain relationship on a balance not too close not too far , may be time and experience will help you learn, this is a common problem I see during my training programs for manufaturing units where old time time tested labour force has been pitched against new technical graduates, experience against graduation.

I have gone through your issue, in this case I would like to suggest you to concentrate on your Job & try to put your best efforts always by implimenting your strengths and at the same time try to get rid of your weakness. let the people ( colleagues) say what the want. you should understand that if such types of your staff members criticized you through "Politics" it means they have compromised with their talent and competencies and trying to demotivate you. so you should trust upon your strengths and ignore the political comments by the people.

You should believe on your Inner guide that is your personal sources of wisdom.It is often difficult to march to your own drum beat and listen to your instincts when the world arround you to criticize.
Always try not to dosclose your secreats to the person especially whom you trust. if there is an open forum announcement BY CEO regarding the achievement and CTC , everyone can well understand that you deserve that CTC. because different people have different mindset & thinking.
You should know that Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world.
