Hi
The suggestion of beauty parlour is good. But as you have mentioned that already there are lot of beauty parlours, you can start a training centre for beauticians. It is the only industry which is growing fast in the present recession scenario and there are lot of demands for the trained manpower in beauty parlours all over the state. I know this as we are into training and placing of these beauticians at Chennai.

Francisee business is good idea if your friend wants to start any small food corner for fast food. Regards Shine

Dear Asha,
I saw your post and the responses. As some have suggested, the first thing your friend has to do is list what she wants to do with her life from the most satisfying to least. Then do a survey of what is already being served by others in the geographical area and where ther is a gap. In effect conduct a SWOT (her own strengths and weaknesses and Opportunities and Threats) analysis.
It will be presumptuous on our part to suggest ideas without knowing the situation, as one can see from the responses above and your answers. Am I correct in assuming that your friend wants to make money and not just serve the society?
Have a nice day.

Thanks for your views Sir.
Yes - you are partly correct - she is intersted in maiing money - but linked with serving the society.
The simple reason that can explain it all together is - this portion of land is available in thr fornt area of her house...so she wants to start something that will not spoil the image of the family name, as well as make money. Becuase this space will make huge business in teh area she is staying.
As someone pointed above - renting was in her mind...but renting for what is the question.

In that case, she could go for an accessories shop, with all kinds of silver and designer jewellary. she can add fancy ladies hand bags and perfumes...and few antiques....trust me asha, if you open such kinda shop even in Dessert, girls will go hunting there as well...

One business that can never fail is Food business.
Either your friend can go for a Fast food corner including Chaat, Tikki, Dosa, Burger, Gol gappe or some range of foods. Home delivery will be an added advantage you can give.
Depending upon the budget your friend can make a choice.
Some of the place can be utilized for Ladies stuff like handbags, jewellery, cosmetics.
One exclusive idea I can share here - if there are number of boutiques around, Instead of keeping so much, your friend can start a simple shop of designer laces, buttons, Clothes accessories.
It sounds wierd but I am placed in Chandigarh and here there is one shop of this kind and the response is huge and huge coz nobody thinks to start such small business which infact is very earning.
Moreover, it doesnt need much investment but you need to keep the best. The kind of place you have mentioned would be an added advantage. You can expand the business once you are established.
Hope this will help

Dear Asha
The first thing she should do is understand what she really is interested in. People would come up with numerous suggestions however she needs to decide first which business she wants to enter into and then ask for creative suggestions to make that place happening n attractive to the crowd.
Otherwise there are a lot of people with plethora of ideas about starting a new venture , ready to spend however not able to get attractive places for starting up something. She can also look out for those people , undestand their concept of business and rent it out to them after scrutinizing that it doesn't spoil the family name. Until and unless, one doesn't do something illegal, the business holds dignity and family name doesn't spoil.
So she needs to decide what she wants to do.
All the best
