A Business executive was deep in debt and could not see any way out.
Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.
Suddenly an old man appeared before him.
“I can see that something troubling you”. He said
After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “ I believe I can help you”.
He asked the man his name, wrote out a cheque and pushed it into his hand saying, “take this money, meet me here exactly one year from today and you can pay me back at that time”.
Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come.
The business executive saw in his hand a cheque for $ 500,000 signed by
John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!
“I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed cheque in his safe knowing that it might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.
With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals, restructured his business and worked rigorously with full zeal and enthusiasm and completed several big deals. Within few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.
Exactly one year later he returned to the park with the uncashed cheque. At the agreed upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand him back the cheque and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.
“I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried.” I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D Rockfeller” and she let the old man away by the arm.
The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.
Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

Hi Anita,
This thing that you have started is a great effort. here is one from my side:
A water bearer had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole
which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, while
the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walk from the stream to the House, the cracked
pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily,
with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his
house.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect
for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of it's own
imperfection. And miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of
what it had been made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke
to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and
I want to apologize to you. I have been able to deliver only half my
load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way
back to your house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this
work, and you don't get full value from your efforts," the pot said.
The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers
only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side? That's
because I have always known about your flaw. So I planted flower seeds on
your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered
them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to
decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would
not be this beauty to grace the house?
Moral: Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But
it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so
very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for
what they are, and look for the good in them. Blessed are the flexible,
for they shall not be bent out of shape.
Remember to appreciate all the different people in your life.

Here is one another story "The Tea cup" from my side to boost our attitudes.....

Lakshmi:-P:lol::-P
One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup. They said, "May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful."
As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke. "You don't understand," it said. "I haven't always been a teacup.
There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, "let me alone", but he only smiled, "Not yet."
"Then I was placed on a spinning wheel," the teacup said, "and suddenly I was spun around and around and around.Stop it! I'm getting dizzy! I screamed. But the master only nodded and said, 'Not yet.'
Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled and knocked at the door. I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as He shook his head, 'Not yet.'
Finally the door opened, he put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. 'There, that's better,' I said. And he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. I thought I would gag. 'Stop it, stop it!' I cried. He only nodded, 'Not yet.'
Then suddenly he put me back into the oven, not like the first one. This was twice as hot and I knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried. All the time I could see him through the opening nodding his head saying, 'Not yet.'
Then I knew there wasn't any hope. I would never make it. I was ready to give up. But the door opened and he took me out and placed me on the shelf. One hour later he handed me a mirror and said, 'Look at yourself. And I did. I said, 'That's not me; that couldn't be me. It's beautiful. I'm beautiful.'
'I want you to remember, then,' he said, 'I know it hurts to be rolled and patted, but if I had left you alone, you'd have dried up. know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I knew it hurt and was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked.
I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened; you would not have had any color in your life. And if I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't survive for very long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. You are what I had in mind when I first began with you.
MORAL:
God knows what He's doing (for all of us). He is the Potter, and we are His clay. He will mold us and make us, so that we may be made into a flawless piece of work to fulfill His good, pleasing, and perfect will.
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not tempt you beyond what you can bear; but with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it

The Tea Cup
There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups. This was their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary.
