Hi Folks,
I have few query
1) What is the Law for Sick leave as per Haryana State Standing Order, is it mandatory to provide Sick Leave to employees as per Factory Act, State Standing Order
2) How much holidays is mandatory under the Factory Act

From India, Ghaziabad
The Factories Act does not direct payment of wages for such leaves taken by any worker on account of sickness (sick leave) or on account of special circumstances which cannot be foreseen (Casual Leave) but the Act provides for earned leave only. The Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Rules of Haryana state also is silent with regard to sick leave. However, the Punjab Industrial Establishments (National and Festival Holidays and Casual and Sick Leave) Act, 1965 which is applicable to factories and commercial establishments in the state of Haryana provides for seven casual leave and fourteen days' sick leaves in a year. The sick leave is not to be given to those who are getting sickness benefits from the ESIC or sickness allowance from plantations. The rate of wages is one half of the average wages.

Please refer to any subsequent amendment because the number of sick leaves has been made to be seven as against 14 perhaps by making it fully paid.
