ESIC Payment

We have a small restaurant in Ahmedabad. We have 8 employee registered with ESIC. Till November-2019 (Pre covid) , we had paid ESIC contribution of all the 8 employees regularly. During the Covid period, restaurant remained closed from January-2020 to May-2021 (for 18 Months) and no contribution was made during the mentioned period.

From June-2021 the restaurant commenced but from June-21 till date the ESIC contribution not made. Now we are getting reminder messages for payment of ESIC.

Queries:

1. Do we have to pay ESIC of Covid Period when the restaurant was closed entirely.
2. How do we know the exact outstanding amount of ESIC?
3. How to clear all the outstanding and make it zero?

What will be the way forward. Please guide us for the same.
