Hi all, If a candidate is currently employed as a government contract employee and our company wants to hire them under a contract as well (i.e., dual contract employment) can we hire him if yes under which contract?
From India, Bengaluru
Dear Soniya,

It's important to note that individuals working with a government department on a contract basis are not classified as government employees. However, they are still required to adhere to the terms of their employment contract. Typically, contractual employees in government departments are prohibited from taking on additional employment or engaging in other business activities.

Additionally, please consider the following:

1) What is the reason for wanting to hire an individual who is currently employed by another company?
2) Will they be able to dedicate their full attention to their work and effectively contribute to your company?
3) Lastly, it's essential to review your company's policies to determine if hiring an individual already employed elsewhere aligns with your company's guidelines.
