I’ve been told by consultant that in Uttarakhand(or UP) bonus act is applicable for 10 or more employees. Can anybody confirm this?

Bonus Act is a central Act but the states can bring in amendments and make establishments with less than 20 employees also under the Act. But if your establishment is a factory then the Bonus Act will be applicable to it without reference to the number of employees employed. The number of 20 relates only to establishments other than factories. Therefore, if yours is a factory there is no need to verify the state amendment or notification but the Act will be applicable to you.
