Recently Supreme Court issued a directive to State & Central Govt asking them to review and furnish a compliance report on POSH Act. What does it mean for private and public sector organisations, does it mean notices and audits will follow now?

Will be interesting to see how HR professionals interpret this order. It's high time POSH act is taken seriously and implemented with all seriousness, what are the thoughts of fellow community members?

The Supreme Court, noting the laxity in implementation of the POSH directives, has pulled up the Central & State Governments, other statutory, non-statutory, private organisations, and others, has listed the effective steps required to implement the Act and monitor the live situation as it arises. The Supreme Court has issued the directives and has sought a compliance report after 2 months.
These are universal directives there is no difference between the government and other sectors in implementing the POSH Act, 2013. It all depends on how seriously the Act gets implemented and hence would vary from organisation to organisation.

Posh Act is enacted in the year 2013 by the parliament but many of the industries has not implemented the same. Even If implemented it is not been followed as per the policy, No proper ICC, lack of awareness for the workmen, ICC doesn't have the knowledge to follow the process of the enquiry & training is not been provided for them.\

Hence Honorable supreme court instructed Unions, states & organisations to follow strictly
