Dear Seniors, We hired a security guard for our office in February 2022, who is still working with us. The guard's age at the time of recruitment was 62, and we are deducting his ESI from the day of joining. I want to know if this is correct, and if not, how to provide health insurance to him because his salary is INR 20000.

ESIC Scheme has not been mentioned any where about age restriction for ESI contribution. So long the monthly gross salary except conveyance allowance ( As per Apex court verdict ) is 21,000/- per month or below , the employee will be covered under ESI.
